Rosie and George Thursday 29 December 2022

Rosie and George tied the knot on Thursday 29 December 2022 with a ceremony in the Drawing Room followed by the most beautiful reception in the Crosby Suite. We're sure like us, after reading this blog post, you'll be dreaming of a festive winter wedding!

Their love story started over 10 years ago in their teenage years and we're thrilled to have played such a big part in not only their big day, but their love story too. After lockdown halted George's plans to propose overseas, it was only right to pop the question in the place they planned to say 'I do'. I mean we can't blame them! Though we may be a little biased...

Minimalist styling allowed the flicker of candlelight to do the talking! Signature 'Winter' scent, neutral florals and accents of silver beautifully set the scene. It's almost a year on and we're still swooning over the incredible timeless details of this day!

Read on to find out how they fell in love, chose their suppliers and how a little bit of magic got everyone talking!

We hope you feel inspired...

So, how did you two meet?

We got together at school as teenagers and have been together since.

When did you know they were 'the one'/how did they pop the question?

George proposed when we were staying at Rudding Park for a night, in July 2020 ten years after we first got together. The plan was to pop the question abroad but due to Covid and lockdowns etc plans had to change.

What was the biggest MUST HAVE for your wedding?

The biggest must have for us was for all our family and closest friends to be with us on the day and for them all to join us on the dance floor all night long.

Other than saying 'I do', what is the most unforgettable moment from the day?

George: I will never forget seeing Rosie in her wedding dress for the first time walking down the aisle.
Rosie: The speeches. I could listen to them all day long, especially George’s. We have kept the noted versions of them with our wedding cards etc.

Which supplier was a real stand out for you? The unsung star who deserves a special mention.

Honestly, all of our suppliers were amazing. Our videographer and photographer worked brilliantly together, almost as if they were part of the same company. Ambience couldn’t have done a better job for us in dressing the beautiful room. Andrew our magician was the main talking point and a complete surprise to everyone. He was amazing.

What was it in your eyes that gives Rudding Park the WOW factor?

We knew from our first visit this was the place for us to get married. The beautiful grounds, the traditional and modern buildings and yet what still made it even more special for us was the staff. Lyndsey made the whole process so relaxed and calm and nothing was too much. She even came to see us just after the ceremony to congratulate us which meant the world and showed a personal touch. Amy was in charge of everything on the day itself and she ensured everything ran smoothly, it couldn’t have gone any better.

How did you style your space? Did your wedding day have a theme?

Simple and minimalistic with lots of candles. We wanted a cosy and intimate setting and after meeting with Ambience we gave them some ideas and then let them work their magic. They were even able to source our favourite candle scent, Winter.

What is your funniest memory from the day?

Will, our best man’s speech.

What's the best advice you could give to couples who are about to tie the knot at Rudding Park?

Enjoy every second and don’t worry about a thing. Everything will be taken care of by the amazing staff. It was the best day of our lives and worth every penny.

And finally, we'd love to hear about your experience with Rudding Park....

From getting engaged here to our wedding day, Rudding Park really is a special place to us both and means so much. The spa, hotel rooms, gardens, grounds and exteriors are top class and we will continue to come back throughout the rest of our lives. We can’t recommend this place enough.
