Laura and Callum Monday 28 August 2023

Laura and Callum tied the knot on Monday 28 August 2023 with a ceremony in the chapel followed by a beautiful reception in the Crosby Suite.

Having first met in Primary school it took until college for the pair to realise their connection. With a special bond formed chatting over their love of rock music and movies - they soon knew it was meant to be! They say laughter brings us closer together and this is certainly the case for these two! With none stop giggles from the moment they met - this is a serious case of 'love, laughter and happily ever after'.

With 'leafy green' colour scheme and lots of personal touches, it was a perfect day celebrating the pairs love.

Read on to find out how they fell in love, chose their suppliers and how Laura's dress had a slight Peroni smell to it!

We hope you feel inspired...

So, how did you two meet?

We met at primary school but we didn’t get together until college.

When did you know they were 'the one'/how did they pop the question?

We started to realise we were made for each other chatting over our love of rock music, movies and just generally making each other laugh all the time. I had no idea Cal was going to propose. We had planned a little trip to the Lake District in September 2021 and when we are at Lake Coniston he started getting on edge and wouldn’t take his coat off and wanting to move away from other people.. I now know this was because he had the ring in his pocket and wanted to propose somewhere where it was just us. I did not suspect it at all I just thought he wasn’t feeling very well 😂it was perfect as it’s somewhere really special to us.

What was the biggest MUST HAVE for your wedding?

A full dance floor! All we wanted was a relaxed and fun day and a party that lasted until the end, and that is exactly what we got!!

Other than saying 'I do', what is the most unforgettable moment from the day?

Our most memorable moment is seeing each other for the first time in the chapel. I don’t think either of us stopped smiling/laughing.

Which supplier was a real stand out for you? The unsung star who deserves a special mention.

Father Ian was incredible and made our ceremony unforgettable, relaxed and fun! Our coordinator Dan was also amazing, kept us calm throughout the day and constantly checked in on us to make sure everything was going to plan.

What was it in your eyes that gives Rudding Park the WOW factor?

The venue itself is just incredible. From the chapel to the terrace to the rooms it is just stunning. I loved that everything is in one place and our guests could stay over and really relax and enjoy themselves. I would say when we first went into the chapel this is when we decided it was the venue for us. The spa is obviously amazing so that was a little bonus!!

How did you style your space? Did your wedding day have a theme?

We didn’t really have a theme, we just collected random things we liked. Overall we wanted it to be quite natural so I kept calling it ‘leafy green’ we did however have a bit of Lego, a disco ball and a photo wall full of funny photos of everyone we love. So a bit of everything!

What is your funniest memory from the day?

One of our friends creating a fountain of Peroni by accidentally bashing two bottles together! My poor dress soaked quite a bit of that up!

What's the best advice you could give to couples who are about to tie the knot at Rudding Park?

Enjoy every minute of it. Enjoy the experiences and every visit to the venue. Trust the coordinators completely, they can answer every question you possibly have and will make your day run like clockwork so you can just enjoy it.

And finally, we'd love to hear about your experience with Rudding Park....

It was perfect! We had the most amazing day and our friends and family loved it too. We wish we could do it all over again.
