Charlotte and Michael Tuesday 3 August 2021

Charlotte and Michael tied the knot on Tuesday 3 August 2021 with a beautiful blessing in the chapel followed by a reception in the Radcliffe Room. Their love story started at a young age with Michael claiming 'I'm going to marry you one day'.

Fast forward to a weekend away in Dublin, the rest is history. Charlotte knew Rudding Park would be the wedding venue of choice from the age of 18, so there's no wonder, no detail went unnoticed. With years to envisage a wedding at Rudding Park, they decided on gold accents, neutral flowers, sunset photoshoots - making memories to last a lifetime - it was the perfect celebration to bring two families together

We hope you feel inspired...

So, how did you two meet?

We met at high school.

When did you know they were 'the one'/how did they pop the question?

We were about 18 and Mike told me he would marry me one day when we were walking back from the shop together. We got engaged in Dublin on a weekend away.

What was the biggest MUST HAVE for your wedding?

Martina Liana wedding dress and Howard Wing who provided the best entertainment during the wedding breakfast.

Other than saying 'I do', what is the most unforgettable moment from the day?

The most unforgettable moment of our day was when we took a moment for some sunset shots and we were dancing in the sunset and also the walk back down the aisle married - I will never forget that feeling in my tummy.

Which supplier was a real stand out for you? The unsung star who deserves a special mention.

Howard Wing was incredible and really made our wedding super fun. The photographer and videographer were so easy to work with and we absolutely admire the outcome.

What was it in your eyes that gives Rudding Park the WOW factor?

The service was impeccable. Simone even drove my guest to the shop for cigarettes! I did my first ever bridal clients hair at this venue age 19 and I always knew I wanted to get married here. As soon as I was engaged we booked our first stay and from that moment I sealed the deal and booked the venue. We have been visiting a few times a year since with the girls and the hubby.

How did you style your space? Did your wedding day have a theme?

My style was all about the royal, grand look. I wanted the venue to look timeless and grand using gold and champagne tones. It took my breath away.

What is your funniest memory from the day?

My daughter raiding the Photo Booth box after the ceremony and greeting us on the grounds during our shoot wearing a few glasses and flowers. The fez stayed on her head all night long and is in every picture!

What's the best advice you could give to couples who are about to tie the knot at Rudding Park?

Stay over night before and after. Enjoy the whole experience, take it all in.  We did a barbecue the night before with lots of our guests to make the most of the weekend.

And finally, we'd love to hear about your experience with Rudding Park....

I’m just obsessed with Rudding park - this place means the world to me. I love returning - any excuse and I come by.
